FAQ

How soon can I book in and how long will my tattoo take to do?
Whether you book in with William or Amy the apprentice, we will ask for more information such as; the size of the tattoo, the placement, the style and the level of detail going into it.  Then we can choose the appropriate artist and give an idea on when they are available to book in and how long the tattoo will take to finish. Larger or more detailed tattoos can need repeat sessions to complete.

Do tattoos hurt?

Yes, of course they do. However, every individual’s pain tolerance is different. All of the artists and staff can offer help, advice and experience when it comes to potential pain when getting a tattoo; we are all happy to talk though the variables that can make a tattoo more or less painful.

How can I book my tattoo?

If you contact us via e-mail, through Facebook or pop into the studio, you will be greeted by Rob our shop manager. With a wealth of knowledge to help and advise you on your new tattoo, Rob will book you in with an appropriate artist or a specific one if requested.

Rob handles all enquires and bookings for William but if you wanted to contact our apprentice Amy directly, you can do so on her Instagram or via her e-mail.

A booking fee is required in order to confirm a booking, these come off the total price of your tattoo. Please try to give us 48 hours or more notice if you cannot make your appointment, we can move the date of your appointment but if you fail to show up for appointment without giving notice, you will lose your booking fee.

How long do tattoos take to heal?
We usually say about 2 weeks, however some smaller tattoos may heal sooner, larger or more detailed tattoos may take closer to 3 or 4 weeks. Always follow the aftercare advice given by your tattoo artist. If your tattoo does seem to be taking longer to heal than normal or any problems arise during the healing process, please contact us so we can offer advice.

How do I care for my new tattoo?
We will wrap your new tattoo and run through aftercare advice before you leave the studio. It’s an open wound for the first day or two, so keep it clean.

You can wash/bath/shower as normal, do not soak for extended periods or scrub at your tattoo. Wash your tattoo gently with a natural, skin friendly soap. Try to avoid washing with something heavily perfumed as this can sting and dry out your skin. We suggest using moisturiser that’s natural and good for the skin (like cocoa butter, coconut oil, almond oil, shea butter etc.) to stop your tattoo drying out and to avoid heavy scabbing.

Wash and moisturise your tattoo 2-3 times a day or whenever the area gets dirty or your skin feels dry, tight or sore. If you think your tattoo is likely to get dirty or rub on any clothes, you can moisturise and re-wrap for a few hours at a time, wash your tattoo between each time you wrap it to keep it clean.

Please avoid anything petroleum based such as Vaseline or Bepanthen and don’t pick or scratch the tattoos. If it does scab up, apply your chosen moisturiser more frequently to keep them soft and comfortable.

Can my underage son/daughter be tattooed with my consent?
Absolutely not! In the UK it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18.

Will you tattoo intimate areas?
This is down to each individual artist’s discretion but we are happy to discuss it with you. We are all professional and our studio is strict when it comes to the modesty of our clients.

We also have a shop policy and will not tattoo head, neck, hands, fingers, face, etc. unless you already have a good number tattoos, as these areas are on show and (unfortunately) tattoos can still effect other areas of life.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact us at [email protected] or pop into the studio!
